the traditional-style room was well-maintained and comfortable, while the public and private onsens were spacious and relaxing. the kaiseki dinner and breakfast offered delicious Japanese cuisine, and the friendly staff always accommodated our needs. the lobby and private baths were modern and the bed quilts were huge.
The hotel could be more flexible with meal preferences and provide guests with more snacking options throughout the day.

The Japanese breakfast was great. The separate room for breakfast was great. The men Onsen is dreamlike, the service of the employees and the friendliness is great.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The hotel facilities were impressive, with a modern lobby and traditionally styled and clean rooms. The private and public onsens were a definite highlight, with spacious outdoor baths and amazing views of the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly helpful and discreet, and the breakfast was delicious. I also appreciated the ample free parking and quieter location.
There was nothing I didn't like.

Our stay at Baien was truly delightful. The onsen experience was absolutely superb, especially the breathtaking view of Mount Yufu at dawn. Starting the day with a peaceful soak in the onsen was truly rejuvenating. The Japanese dining experience was also fantastic, with delicious courses that we thoroughly enjoyed. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a great night's sleep in a Western-style bed. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay near Yufuin.

I had a really pleasant stay at this luxurious hotel near Yufuin. The location in a quieter area was perfect for me, as I enjoyed the peacefulness and proximity to Kinrin Lake. The room was spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable and warm futons. The hotel staff, especially the young man who took care of our meals, were exceptional and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and I especially appreciated the self-serve bar in the lobby after dinner. The hotel also offered an onsite car park, which was convenient.
I would highly recommend this hotel for families as well.

During my Easter holiday, I had a wonderful stay at a traditional Japanese hotel. The open-air hot springs were definitely the best aspect of my stay, as they served as the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery around. The well-appointed rooms were also a great plus, and the hotel's location was perfect, offering easy access to the main tourist sites and ample free parking. the hotel provided a complimentary self-serve bar, which was a nice touch and added value to our stay.
While the service staff was friendly and tried their best, they did not speak fluent English, which made communication a bit complicated. Another downside was the lackluster food, which was average and not very impressive.

My Xmas holiday at this hotel was superb. the best aspects of my stay were the hot springs and the delicious breakfast. the hotel is conveniently located near the main tourist sites, and the lobby is modern and clean. the private and public baths were spacious and outdoors, giving an extraordinary onsen experience. the breakfast served every morning was delicious and had a variety of options to choose from. the hotel is perfect for a relaxing getaway and for experiencing Japanese hospitality.
The lighting in my room was not suitable for applying makeup, and the air conditioning could have worked better. There was no shower available in the room, and the guests in the dining area could be quite loud and noisy.
